Coaching

Athletics coaching takes place all year round on Mondays from 2.45 to 3.15pm. This is open to all pupils from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes.

The school enters teams in several cross country events each year and teams are selected and trained for these events. In addition, some events are open to all children who participate in training. Transport is provided by the school to these events.
The school also participates in the annual Cumann na mBunscoil Primary School Sports Day where pupils compete in a wide range of athletic events.

Wicklow Indoor Athletics Competition

On Monday, the 2nd of February 2015, Ms O'Leary and Ms. Whelan brought twenty-four pupils from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class to Shoreline in Greystones to represent St. Patrick's N.S. in the Wicklow Indoor Athletics Competition. Our pupils competed in many different events, such as, triple jump, standing long jump, speed jump, vertical jump, javelin, relays and obstacle course.
The boys were simply outstanding and put in an amazing effort. Many of them won individual competitions and as a team they came 2nd, being devastatingly beaten by a single point by Roundwood. We are very proud of the boys and we would like to thank Darren, who has been working with the boys every Monday for the past couple of months.
