Science

This week is Science Week in St. Patrick’s N.S. In 2nd class we focused on the theme of buildings. The children were divided into groups and challenged to construct a tower using tinfoil. We used the Eiffel Tower as our inspiration. The tower had to be free standing and 50cm in height.

I also asked the children to build a bird’s nest. The nest needed to keep an egg safe and warm. The children were given string, cotton wool, matchsticks and lollipopsticks to complete this task.

For our last task, the children had to make a set of panpipes using strsws. The children needed to vary the lengths of the straws to get the desired result.
