“Don’t Delay, Get Out and Play!”
We at St. Patrick’s NS have a long and proud tradition of promoting a healthy lifestyle through activities, sports and games. Our many yards and green spaces are filled daily with the sound of boys and girls enjoying a variety of games, exercising without even knowing they are doing so. To celebrate this, we are currently working towards our Active School Flag. Our school’s goal is to enable each child to get sixty minutes of physical activity every day. Our school motto is “Don’t Delay, Get Out and Play!” Our whole school PE plan is available below. If you want to find out any more about our Active School Flag, please contact the ASF coordinators, Ms Lawlor and Mr Cuddihy. Better still, you could ask one of the many class reps who form our Active School Committee.
We are delighted to have received our active flag. Fionnuala McCormack came to our school to raise the flag for us. See our blog on May 31st 2019.

Active Schools Week:
St. Patrick’s have been running Active Schools Week for the past three years, and really have everybody moving. Classes were given more active breaks between classes, extra equipment was supplied at break time and many other fun events have taken place such as the marathon. This does not just apply to our students either. Teachers and parents were also taking part in pre-school aerobics in the yard. You can find photo evidence on our school’s blog. Also, keep an eye out for the dates on our school Facebook page to make sure you do not miss this year’s fun.

St Patrick’s also wishes to acknowledge the wonderful support and partnerships built up with many clubs and organisations in the locality. These clubs often provide outside coaches, specialty training, facilities and equipment to our school in order for us to provide such an array of physical activities, which help make us the Active School we are today.
