Fancy dress Football
There was a real feeling of celebration in the playing field at St Patrick’s NS today as the boys and girls were treated to a rare spectacle of “Fancy Dress Football”, as part of our Active School Week. Thanks to all the classes and their teachers who followed the rules and kept in their bubbles. This allowed us all enjoy two fantastic games of football, played in by the boys and girls of Ms O’Byrne’s and Mr Cuddihy’s classes. There were all sorts of costumes on display, making for a very colourful and entertaining game. The end result was a draw in both games. A penalty shootout was needed to try and break the deadlock, but despite the valiant efforts of the pupils and a number of staff members, the teams could not be separated. The atmosphere was enhanced by the brilliant commentators, Kyle and Aoife.
Thanks to all the parents who donated so generously on Aladdin, and the pupils of 6th class who brought in their own money to add to the pot. The tally currently stands at over €400, and is still rising. All monies raised will go to Wicklow Cancer Support and the Irish Cancer Society, as chosen by the pupils of 6th Class.
