The Tower Challenge
For Engineers Week we studied famous towers including the CN Tower in Toronto and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. We identified the design of the structures, the architects, specifications and histories of these towers. We then set about designing our own towers using plastic pipes and joiners. Finally we worked in our groups to see who could build the tallest free standing structure. The winning tower stood at 4m 88cm. Well done to all the young engineers involved. Mr Cuddihy was very proud of all their efforts.
