Creative Schools Week 2022

In early May we marked our first ever Creative Schools Week here in St Patrick’s NS. The Creative Schools (CS) initiative aims to put the arts and creativity at the heart of young peoples lives, empowering school communities to build artistic and creative skills. This year we had a number of workshops and activities taking place throughout the school including:

  • Art workshops with our Creative Associate Helen,

  • Drama workshops with Mr O’Toole,

  • Traditional Irish Music & Dancing tutorials,

  • Tin making workshop,

  • Chalk art on class yards,

  • Stone painting art and Rock Garden inspired by the story ?Only One of You?.

Ms Buckley and Mr Hehir of our Creative Schools Committee would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped in the running of the various activities throughout the school during CS Week. Next year we will be looking for students to volunteer on to our CS Advisory Committee where students will help with our CS Plan and in the organisation of Creative Schools Week 2023.
