Presentation of Tricolour

Members of the Defence forces came to our school today and presented us with a handmade Tricolour and a copy of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic.Sergeant Andrew D'Arcy talked about the history of the National Flag and the correct protocol for its use. Corporal Michael O'Brien read a part of the Proclamation and he was helped by Finn, 6th class pupil, who read paragraph four of the document. Trooper Christopher Fox presented the flag to Jim and Sergeant D'arcy gave Chad the copy of the Proclamation.

We will display the Tricolour on Proclamation Day, March 15th , 2016.
